We know there are a lot of dogs (and other pets) in Shaw and Mt Vernon Square who never get enough recognition. Tell us about your dogs, cats, birds, turtles, hamsters, fish and any of the other members of your family who bring lots of joy and love to your life.
We’ll set up a Flikr page soon so images of your pets will be displayed in our sidebar and on a special photo page. But in the meantime, simply email you photos from your Blackberry, iPhone, or other camera to Friendsofbundy@gmail.com and we’ll post them.
Ellie is a Scottish Terrier. She was born on February 16, 2000 in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England, but don’t you dare say that she’s English – she’s 100% Scot. I brought her to DC when I moved here in September 2001. Carrots are her favorite treat.

Tache (“tosh”) is a happy mutt. She was born on January 7, 2007. We rescued her from the DC Animal Shelter in July, 2007. The Shelter told us she was part Dobie, part French Shepherd, so we called her Tache, which is French for “Spot”. Since then, we think she’s really part Rottie, part Australian Cattle Dog, but since Australian for “Spot” is just “Spot”, Tache is her name.

Hank is a four-year old long-haired German Shepherd and is a registered therapy dog with the Delta Society and works as a volunteer at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Fort Belvoir VA. For the past three years, Hank’s job has been to bring a bit of “hair and happiness” to wounded solders, patients and their families as part of the American Red Cross Pet Therapy Team.

From CCCA Prez:
Feline twins, Obama and Elektra, were found in my backyard flower box/bench under a hosta after being abandoned by their parents. They were found when they were less than a week old apparently, b/c their eyes had not opened yet. They celebrated their first birthday on June 1, 2009, with a new ball toy they play soccer with throughout the house.

We have two dogs (Chester…a cockapoo and Oliver…a miniature schnauzer). Both were adopted and are trying very hard to overcome some emotional issues. They seem to love their brothers…our cats (Sullivan and Phineas). It really is a joy.

My little girls named is Karma and she’s about 6 yrs old. One summer day I was driving home from Rehoboth Beach and noticed her abandoned in a field. After asking the neighbors no one seemed to recognized her. So there you go I have my best friend. All she wants to do is give lots love, run after her ball and chase squirrels. Her favorite snack is dried chicken strips.
